Its name meaning "White Caves" in the Yucatec Maya language, Cenotes Sac Actun represents an underwater cavern system near Yucatan’s Caribbean coast. Explore a part of the massive 230 km (143 mile) cave system, and visit the Sac Actun cenote. Swim in the underground freshwater basins and streams, dive in the interconnected cenotes, or snorkel to see small fish swim along the roots and vines. Admire the vast caverns, adorned with stalactites and stalagmites, or try to spot the sea turtles that can be found near the opening of the cenote. Had a tour of the Pet Cemetery with Issa ( sorry for misspelling the name) and it was just awesome. I was expecting a river walking like many other cenotes but it was much more than this. Looking at..... more

The equipment and the guide were top-notch. I wish the other people in the group we joined would have stopped giggling and screeching because otherwise this was a very special experience

We had a really wonderful time! We definitely recommend wearing a wetsuit (they are optional but we were all shivering a bit by the end of 90 min!). The cave is so beautiful, the guides are all friendly and speak multiple languages. We had 6 people total in our party so some areas were a tight fit but we made it work. I think for the amount you are able to see and the experience of swimming inside the cave it is totally worth it! The group that runs this also takes good care of the land, and clearly has pride in it. The grounds are kept up nicely with lots of orchids planted, and they have respect for the local birds- ask to see the Mayan 'Toe' bird nest in the wall of the cave!

The most beautiful cenote we’ve visited in Tulum! It was a different world in here, seeing all the stalactites and stalagmites, underwater caves, it was really amazing. Our tour guide, Jose, knows his stuff and speaks very good English. Definitely a must visit!

Amazing! Beautiful cave cenote, with crystal clear waters and incredible rock formations (estalactites, estalagmites and marine fossils). Guided tour with groups of up to 10 people cost MX$650 or US$35 per person, and it lasts between 45 to 60 minutes. We got there early, and there’s a tolerance of 20 minutes for a group to form, the group leaves with the people who arrived in these 20 minutes (mine had only 5 people in total).

Fantastic Cenote! Just take the leap and do it :) And worth the travel time and price of admission. Carlos was an excellent guide and the site is very interesting and secure! 100% worth the trip. Everything you would need is provide in the fee, you can even get a pouch onsite for your phone. Cash or credit card on site. At the entrance to dos ojos road, you will be approached by 3rd party guides at different gates offering extra activities. You can skip all that, and choose to travel the 3-4 km of dirt road to the end and you can save a lot of money. Enjoy!

Such a great experience. We were afraid of swimming so Issa our tour guide, let us latch on to his life jacket and took us through the whole cavern!!! The new stalactites, bats, little fish everything was phenomenal. You can snorkel a bit too to check the Definitely take the life jackets and wet suit, since most of the cenote is underwater. The total cost is 650pesos/35$ per person as of April 2022. The experience and service value is way beyond the price.
