Create an itinerary including Gran Cenote
Swim and snorkel in the crisp cold waters of Gran Cenote, a flooded cavern with a jetty, affording easy access to a wonderful subterranean pool. Scuba diving excursions are available, but you’ll be able to see a lot from the surface with your goggles, including strange rock formations and terrapins heading to the surface. The beautiful surroundings make a great place to have a picnic before returning to the pool. Keep your eyes peeled for the iguanas and peacocks that roam the surrounding area. Put Gran Cenote and other Tulum attractions into our Tulum trip builder app, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • It’s not cheap to visit this cenote but it’s spectacular. The water is so blue and took my breath away. The little turtle colony that you can swim or snorkel with is so much fun too! There’s also...

  • Very basic and crowded for the price ($25 usd per person). The cenote could have been cool if they limited the people in there but overall a very underwhelming trip. The turtles were cool however

  • Really gorgeous and well maintained cenote. They recently raised the price to 500 pesos ($25) but the property is very well taken care of. Get there at 8 so you're first in line when the doors open at 8:10. The water is pleasant and crystal clear. Swim with turtles, birds and bats in the caves.
  • We came there at around 14:00, it wasn’t very crowded, there was still sun and the color of water was beautiful. Yes, it’s too expensive, yes, they make you wash your hair, which is super annoying and doesn’t make any sense unless you came back from the sea. But it’s still worth it. It’s not that you see something like that every day. Of course, there are plenty of other beautiful cenotes in the area, but this one is definitely worth a visit. Take your own towels and snorkel. They do give them, but I wouldn’t want to use the one that other people put in their mouths before. Grab a go-pro if you have it. I just used my iPhone for underwater photos, even without a case or a rope. There are turtles, fish, bats and iguanas. There’s a grass area where you can chill and sunbathe. I have a 4 because the price is too high.
  • 500 pesos including snorkel gear. 30 pesos for locker. Able to see lots of turtles and bats in the caves which was incredible. Light filtering through the trees and on the rocks was really cool to look at. We got there at 8:10am when it opened and had the place to ourselves for maybe 15 minutes. Didn’t get crowded on our Friday morning 😊
  • Beautiful cenote. Maybe one of the best in the area. Turtles, birds and fish everywhere. :) clean and organized. Free snorkeling equipment. Entry cost $25 USD (500 pesos). Very Expensive. 30 pesos for lockers and you can leave your ID for free snorkeling equipment,
  • Beautiful large cenote, the water is crystal clear and has multiple species of selfish swimming around the entire time. There are also some turtles swimming around that you can see. Definitely worth the visit. The best cenote in the area in my opinion
