Soliman Bay Tours, Tulum

My girlfriend and I booked a private Cenote Tour with Gilmer from Soliman Bay Tours based on their great reputation on TripAdvisor and Google Maps. Gilmer was on time and brought us snorkeling gear and life jackets that were freshly sanitized and packaged. Gilmer took us to three underground Cenotes and one above ground Cenote. They were all excellent and Gilmer timed our arrival so the Cenotes weren't busy and we had them mostly to ourselves. At one Cenote Gilmer guided us into a hidden portion of the Cenote that was completely closed off from the main portion. It was amazing in there and we would have never been able to find it if it weren't for Gilmer guiding us. Gilmer's english was great and he was able to teach us a lot about the Cenotes and even gave us recommendations on what else to do while we were in Mexico. We were extremely happy with Gilmer's service, low cost and our overall experience. I would recommend Gilmer and Soliman Bay Tours to anyone looking to explore the area and discover really cool Cenotes.

Gilmer was so good we booked twice! We first booked through Airbnb for a Bay snorkeling tour. The bay was quiet and felt very private. We paddled out in calm water and were guided around the snorkeling area. Gilmer gave us plenty of time to enjoy and take pictures, and even took a few for us! We enjoyed him so much we booked a Cenote snorkeling tour for the next day. He took us to the Cenotes when they were almost empty and showed us some of the most spectacular caves and clear water I've ever seen! He again gave us all the time we needed to take pictures and enjoy the cenote. He also took us to his favorite breakfast place in Chemuyil before heading out on the tour (much needed as we skipped breakfast to make the tour on time!) Gilmer is our favorite and we hope to visit him again soon!

We picked this excursion for the fun combination of kayaking and snorkeling. Gilmer provided an easy meeting point, great preparation directions & the well-versed knowledge of a guide that loves sharing the beautiful reef with others. He expertly pointed out sea cucumbers, angelfish, and more, including the graceful beauty of an eagle ray! (Don’t forget to protect this amazing area with reef-safe sunscreen and fins up to avoid breaking off coral, please!) The kayaking is easy enough and we never felt rushed, were treated with patience & kindness, always felt safe when in the water and were kept well-informed of what we were to expect from getting back in the boat to underwater photography to water currents, etc. I would definitely rebook with Gilmer for an excursion package again! Also, ask about his friend Jorge at Cuarzo Viajes Transport Co. for a great shuttle option!

Gilmer was fantastic. Such a great guide to some incredible spots. We took a cenotes tour and it was better than we could’ve hoped for. He knows the perfect times to visit all the great spots (so we avoided a lot of the crowds). And he took his time and made sure we enjoyed the entire experience. I can’t recommend Gilmer enough. If you’re coming to the Tulum area… make sure Solomon Bay Tours is a part of your to-do list. They have something to offer every aquatic adventure you might want.

We had the best trip with Gilmer and Victor! We started at the Tulum Ruins, where we were dropped off for a self-guided tour. Gilmer offered to help find a tour guide once we were on site, but we opted to explore ourselves. After the ruins we kayaked in the ocean and snorkeled from there. I've gone on several snorkeling excursions, and this one was by far the best! Usually snorkel tours take you out on a boat or from a dock to an area with several other groups. Soliman Bay Tours takes you to a private area, and it was just our small group of 6! It all felt very natural as the guides do not feed or bait any fish to come. It was a LOT of swimming around to see things, but we saw so many amazing sea creatures! We saw a barracuda, conch, and a spotted eagle ray (just to name a few!). The cenote snorkeling was also very memorable. It was all of our first time in a cenote, and it was a really cool experience! We finished with a lunch from a local restaurant and it was the best meal we had all week in Riviera Maya! My family talked about the food for the rest of the trip!! Usually tours feel very rushed, especially when there are multiple activities planned, but we never felt rushed once! We are so grateful for Gilmer's (and Victor's) patience throughout the entire day and hope to join another tour during our next trip to Riviera Maya!
