Escape to Cenote Maya Park, a secret Mayan underworld of tranquillity, where you can dip into crisp water that was once used by the Mayans for both rituals and relaxation. Descend down vines that begin at the opening and lead 26 m (85 ft) below ground into the cenote, where you can swim in the company of black catfish. The body of water itself is about 40 m (130 ft) deep and 60 m (200 ft) in diameter. It can also be reached by taking a manmade staircase, which leads to a platform sitting in the middle of the water. • I am so surprised by this place. I am waiting to download my photos to post them but I will post the outside ones here. The cenote gives you the option to walk down or rappel down. I recommend you rappel. It looks and sound scary but someone is controlling you from the bottom to prevent a free fall. The food was phenomenal there! This place is impressive. Mind you, the water is very cold but refreshing.
  • The best day of our entire trip was visiting this cenote! Repelling into the water was amazing, the staff were wonderful, the food was great - everything was awesome!
  • Love this cenote. Great people. Rappelling into the water was awesome. We all really enjoyed the shaman and the blessing before the lunch. We’ll done.
  • This was my first time visiting a cenote. It was such a great experience! I booked a tour at my hotel, which included a visit to this cenote. Upon arrival, we were invited to a dining hall, and they served us Mayan food. It was delicious! They also mentioned that we could have multiple servings if we wanted. Afterwards, we went to the cenote to swim. As expected, the water was very cold since it is in a cave. However, it feels so great! It's truly different than swimming in the beach. I don't know how to describe the feeling. It's unfortunate that we weren't allowed to bring anything with us inside the cave, including cellphones and cameras. Which is why I don't have any pictures of the place. I can't compare this cenote to the others since it was my first time visiting one. If you never visited a cenote before, then you will surely have a great experience here! Especially since there are very few tourists visiting this place.
  • What a wonderful place. The food was AMAZING!! The cenote was absolutely beautiful, we had so much fun here. I wish they would let you take your own pictures here though, since the price of the pictures they take is pretty pricey. We came here on a guided tour that included Chichen Itza so we didn't get too much time in the water or get to see the ruins. The rappelling down 65 ft into the water was scary at first but I'm so glad I did it. We had such a lovely time here .
