One of the largest mosques in the world, Hassan II Mosque is an impressive place of worship and a symbolic landmark of the city. Nearly 1,000 construction workers and 10,000 artists took nearly seven years to complete this structure, known for its highly decorated interior (viewable only as part of a guided tour), rich in Islamic artistic motifs, including geometric shapes and sections from the Quran. The 210 m (689 ft) tall minaret stands above the old town, while the main building looks out across the Atlantic Ocean. • Incredible experience. Worth the price. Most impressive mosque i have seen. The English tour guide was very professional and experienced. Answered all questions the group had. A must see place when visiting Morocco.
  • IT'S MAGNIFICENT! Favorite visit in Casablanca by far. For only 130 MAD (13$) you get a one hour guided tour inside the mosque in French, English, Italian. I learned so much interesting facts! Make sure to visit at 9, 10, 11 am or 12 pm. You can't just enter whenever.
  • Loved it! It's even bigger and grander in person. The premises of the mosque aren't just beautiful but they carry a sense of peace. The cool sea breeze is just perfect. On your Morocco trip, I'd definitely recommend visiting Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca. Be mindful of prayer times as access will be restricted. Non-muslims are able to visit too. Either early morning or close to sunset makes for a wonderful time. If you enter after 5 pm, there is no entry fee for the premises. You may need to purchase a tour during the daytime hours to access the interior. There is no issue for capturing photos and videos with your phone but a with a proper camera - it will depend on who is patrolling the area. Some days, they don't care if you're shooting with a DSLR. Some days, they will object (especially during busy hours). I would avoid bringing tripods that could draw unnecessary attention. Please be respectful and dress appropriately (nothing too revealing).
  • I walked 3km to Hassan II Mosque from where i stayed. This is the second largest mosque in Africa. Its minaret is 60 stories high and the laser light is directed to Mecca. The building stands partially on land and partially over the Atlantic ocean, walls are hand-craft marble. A real masterpiece by French architect Michel Pinseau. Its really worth visiting and I am truly impressed.
  • This is a must see on your trip to Morocco. Very rarely do non-muslims get a chance to see such incredible active mosques. It's an amazing experience. On hot days, the retractable roof is opened. We had a great tour guide (part of the ticket). Check times before planning your trip.
