  • A very nice place in Yangon. The central station with circulation train around the city that would be one of the most interesting activities in the capital of Myanmar. The construction is remained for long time but being in good condition in use. It is not so hard to buy ticket for tourists like us, because they have all the guidance sign in each lane.
  • At the Yangon Central Railway station, there is a great tourist attraction - the circular rail line! It takes some 3.5 - 4 hours, running from this station to different parts of towns/villages and returning to same station. There was much fun, inside the coach, seeing and experiencing like the locals do. The mad rush, the hard seats and then, the many peddlers selling their wares and food stuff, from one stop to the other. And the views, outside the coach are live pictures in motion. Beautiful scenes of countryside, wooden houses, farmlands, cars, roads etc...in sequence. A very memorable trip in this slow moving train.
  • The nearest hotel for this station is Hotel G. It is an amazing experience for doing the circular train trip. Interesting architecture outside the building. Inside the building is old and dusty. You can tell the guards to let you in and go onto the railway track for photo taking😎 You can also buy the train ticket at 200kyat for a round trip, which will take 3 hours for the whole trip🚂
  • Ride the Circle train here. Buy tickets on platform 7. It is currently closed partway for track works so you can only go one way. We got off the train after we felt that we had enough and caught a taxi back to the city. Still a good adventure and experience
  • Clearly aging, but nonetheless charming old train station filled with character. It acts as the starting point for the popular circle train. For those taking the circle train, it can be a bit of a pain to find how to get to the platform and purchase your ticket, but workers are reasonably helpful when asking for help. For taking the circle train: - navigate to the easternmost entrance to the train station, enter the station there until you see the tracks, and look for the staircase on the easternmost wall which goes over the tracks. It will probably have a sign on it saying "circular train" - walk on the staircase and then over the bridge over the tracks, making sure to follow signs for the circular train - descend onto the middle platform again following the signs - proceed to the ticket booth further west along the platform, it is here where you can purchase a ticket to the circle train. At the time of writing, the fare is 200 Kyats - Ask for where to board the train, and wait to board Some tips: - it is a truly fun and authentic experience for those looking for it, but it is by no means a luxury train, or even "exciting" by most definitions of the word exciting. It is a true cultural experience, and much more about what goes on on-board the train rather than outside the train. The external scenery isn't much to behold, but taking in life for the average Yangonite on-board the train is very special - For the most exciting rides, come in the morning, when the city is waking up - and it isn't extremely hot yet. Yes, on-board the train during the day it can get borderline unbearable at times, try to snag a window seat if you can and open it all the way! - If you are running late for the train like I was, this is Yangon! You can totally run after it and catch it, which although probably dangerous, was a hysterically fun experience.
