Epupa Falls, Epupa

Beautiful when the river is full!! 100% Worth an overnight stay if you're doing a trip to the North. Free trail lets you walk down the river as well, so you can catch all the angles!

Lots of water and very hot and NO electricity but will go back anytime. Campsites clean showers have hot water.

Breathtaking experience. A must see in Namibia. We were at the falls in an extremely dry season. We were told by locals that the river hasn't been this low since 30 years ago. It made for some dramatic photographs with all of the rocks that are usually covered underwater now showing up through the surface. We'll definately be back after the rainfall to see it running at full capacity.

The most beautiful country border I have seen, Epupa Falls (and the Kunene River) separates Namibia and Angola. I cured the falls from the Namibia side and appreciated the peaceful river from atop the falls and the beautiful chaos of water tumbling down the river's canyon. It took a short hike down the river to truly appreciate the breadth of the Falls that has carved out islands and streams and waterways in a dramatic otherworldly oasis landscape. The baobab trees, birds, and threat of crocodiles add to the vivid experience - best seen in the morning when you will see rainbows in the must or at dusk when animals can be spotted on the islands above the falls.

To be honest we were a bit disappointed. Pleasant place, but probably not worth the drive all up to the far North of Namibia. Some facilities available, take some time to visit a himba village and to get some insight into more rural Namibia
