Create an itinerary including Phewa Tal (Fewa Lake)
Visit Nepal’s second largest lake, Phewa Tal (Fewa Lake), and enjoy a peaceful walk along its scenic banks. The lake is a semi-natural body of water, fed by streams but regulated by a dam, and features an island with a Hindu temple. Hike or cycle around the lake, surrounded by verdant forest on one side, with the touristy lakeside area on its eastern bank. Rent a vividly painted boat and set off on the lake’s calm water, which reflects the towering Annapurna mountain range. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Phewa Tal (Fewa Lake) and many more Pokhara attractions: make an itinerary online using Klarna Trips Pokhara tour itinerary planner.

  • Beautiful reflection of Machapuchale mountain and Annapurna South on the lake. Not busy but calm especially in the morning. Boat is a bit expensive and a bit big but worth trying it.

  • Serene, beautiful, quiet lake. Just enjoy sitting next to it or a boat ride. It has many restaurants nearby so don't forget to enjoy your meals while watching the lake.

  • Beautiful lake, boat + driver: 780 rs for 1 hour. You can also take a stroll, many good cafe and restaurants options along the lake Mid October to Mid November are the best time to visit, sky is blue and mountains are beautiful.
  • It is a very beautiful place. The best time to visit this place is winter. Take the boat and drive to the farthest corner of the lake where you can get a view of Annapurna range if you're lucky. Boat chargers 900 NPR per hour (4 persons) 1500 NPR per hour (6 persons) It is recommended to visit this lake in the morning.
  • A site to must visit when you are in Pokhara. The best thing is that the motor boat are not operated in the Lake as a contribution to the environment. Most of the boat drivers are friendly and serve as tour guide.
  • It's a serene place and most famous tourist destination in pokhara, as a traveller I really love the environment the lake has, I visited it on different times of the day, early morning it's calm and beautiful, day time it starts filling with people and gets crowded, many people love to hire boats and visit the temple which is right in the middle of the lake and also to take a pleasurable ride around it. It's a fulfilling experience. Boating with family, friends, solo anything is rewarding. People wave at each other and click pictures and share a smile across. The tourists are amazing as well. Early morning I saw many tea and snacks sellers. The market has changed so much at lakeside. There are many trekking supply, pachmina/ cashmere, Jewellery, antique, book, clothes stores there as well as the number of restaurants serving various cuisine has increased. The old/ new, tall hotels and buildings can be visible now, mostly in the alleyways of the other side of the lake. The number of bars and pubs has opened and serve live music there. So if you enjoy it you can choose any of them. They also designed a pavement for taking a long walk along side the lake which is a good step I feel, there are many street food or restaurants there as well. Night life by the lake is worthy. Take a stroll and eat your favourite food from Chinese to Tibetan to Nepalese to anything else they serve. They also have permanent fair called Disneyland pokhara, we enjoyed the giant wheel ride it overlooked whole lakeside. In the evening we witnessed the barahi temple Aarti, it gave the vibe of Banaras ganga ghat aarti, and it was a different experience for me aa well as I saw it happening for the 1st time. Everyday at Lakeside is great. There is a positive vibe. While wandering in the morning I took a ride and walk from one end to another of the locality. I visited the gardens, temples alongside and clicked a lot of photographs.
  • Phewa lake some where it is also written as fewa lake. Phewa Lake is the second largest lake in Nepal. It is a semi-natural fresh water lake enveloped by rani ban or queen's forest and stunning reflection of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges in the clear lake waters. It is also a perfect place to experience the ever so glorious Himalayan sunrises. One can hire a colourful boat called doonga and sail through the lake for a relaxing ride. It has some religious significance too as it is known for the sacred Tal Barahi Temple located on an island in the lake. Baidam or lakeside of Pokhara on the eastern part has some amazing lodges, restaurants, cafes and bookshops. The densely forested region around the lake has thrilling trails that lead up to higher grounds. Timings : 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Entry Fee : depends upon boat you select or duration you want. But price ranges between 900 to 2500 NPR. Tips : The Lake water runs deep, to as much as 30 meters. It is, therefore, advisable to wear life jackets while boating. Area : 742 m (2,434 ft) Depth : 8.6 m (28 ft) Depth : 24 m (79 ft)
