Parnell Rose Gardens
Sniff the bright and blooming flowers at Parnell Rose Gardens, home to a celebrated collection of the most romantic of all flowers. The expertly designed gardens offer different themed displays, including the Nancy Steen cottage-style garden, which displays a remarkable range of heritage roses. Visitors will also delight at seeing the oldest manuka plant and the largest pohutukawa tree in the district of Auckland. Barbecue spots and a wealth of green lawns provide great options once you've seen the collection. It's not worth a special trip to visit this garden in February. There were not as many special roses as we'd hoped to see, and it just didn't have a great feel for us. We'd not return.

This is such a great spot, that really should be protected and preserved. Even in winter it is a lovely peaceful place to visit. With a bunch of different roses with the most magical colours. Children running around , and other people just chilling and having lunch. There are also tones of quite secluded spots to sit if you need some quite time. I will definitely try visit again soon.

An awesome and really well kept rose garden, great to visit in the summer months when the roses are blooming and thriving. All sorts of different coloured roses to see and look at with name labels, and other plants to go and look at too. There are plenty of shady spots to sit down in for a rest too, and there is a cafe you can go to near the front parking area. There are public toilets, and a water fountain. Easy to get to from the CBD, and a great place to visit on a sunny afternoon.

We visited in January when most of the roses were blooming and they were gorgeous. The park is well looked after and has so many different roses to enjoy. Definitely worth the visit. The cafe on the grounds is also very good.
-
Good place for a picnic. There are rose gardens of course to see. But there is also plenty of space to picnic. It also has access to a beach with calm water as it’s kinda surrounded by land and looks like a lake. It is elevated and overlooks the port and a big part of the city.
-
Beautiful to see big area not really suited for wheelchairs or old people as it's very steep down to the water ..but the top part is gorgeous..many seats to sit and picnic areas on lawn also a lovely cafe ..but no wheelchair access
