  • Although it was a drizzly day; we were quite content to wander through the various forests. More labelling of trees could be advantageous.

  • I went on Sunday 28 August 2022, with my daughter, and three year old granddaughter. I had never been before, and I was so stunned by the beauty, and complete natural way that it was left to its own devices. The hens, roosters, and ducks, were so cute, and friendly, and my granddaughter was delighted. We walked slowly, and tried to take in everything, which was quite difficult, because there was so much to see. But sitting by one of the small ponds, was so tranquil, and very peaceful. The perfect place to get away from a fast paced city. I truly loved it, and having come from a rural setting not too long ago, it was like a haven. I think that it is a huge plus for Hamilton, and the Waikato in general. I'm definitely going again.
  • Great little park. Takes about 1-1.5hours. Plenty of seating and table and chairs scattered around the walk including little covered over shelters. Chicken and ducks are common sight with a few cows. Some lovely grassy areas near the start very suitable for a picnic. A few maps around the place to help are it can get a bit disorientating. One suggestion would be slightly more signage to inform people about varied areas and trees.
  • If your a walker, nature lover or want somewhere different to take the kids THIS IS THE PLACE! Located about 7mins from forest lake via car. Beautiful picturesque scenery, animals, water features and absolute serenity. You can choose your distance, no dogs as animals live freely amoungst this forest paradise. Cows, ducks, chickens and many birds. DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS it will harm their digestive systems they are looked after by grounds people. Many conveniently placed seating throughout the walk so it's suitable for all ages and pram accessible. If you enjoy meditation, you will find plenty of wonderful spots to unwind and refocus, my favorite being the circle of stones at the end of the circuit.
  • Lovely place to let the kids roam and explore, especially if they are not already comfortable or familiar with being in the outdoors. Do bring some peas (bread is not really healthy or safe for animals) to feed the ducks and the chickens that amble around the premises.
