We spent a good 2 or 3 hours here and it was time well spent. This is a great regional museum. we even had a very pleasant late afternoon bite and drink in the adjoining restaurant.

Beautiful museum dedicated to the Maori people and early European settlers. Everything was displayed, organized and comprehensible. They even had short clips where a group was explaining certain traditions of the Maori. I enjoyed immensely.

Overall very good, however for an information centre to be upstairs with only the only dry/elderly/ less abled access not working is not a good start. Had to get our ability challenged passenger out of the car & to the lift, to discover its not working & only access is via steps outside in the rain. Consequently we had to leave him in the car. Centre itself was good, staff were helpful & attentive.

There is a lot of activities for children inside. Entry is free. Please remember that Taking pictures is not allowed inside. I highly recommend to visit this museum.

Great museum to visit with kids, so many interactive activities and displays to entertain little ones. Would recommend visiting and best of all it is free.
