Discover steaming springs and lush foliage at Kuirau Park, a regional hotspot of geothermal activity. Head for the park's raised boardwalks, where you can walk above boiling ponds surrounded by trees, as the sulphurous steam rises around you. Keep your eyes peeled for bubbling mud pools as well. A small, non-thermal wading pool with a fountain provides a solid spot for cooling off in warm weather, and a children's playground makes the area decidedly kid-friendly. This is a nice park to explore and a great way to see the area's geothermal activity for free. The boardwalk across water was closed when we visited in December.

Perfect place to take the family for a walk for free while taking in the surroundings of the geothermal pools! We come to the park whenever we visit Rotorua! Definitely recommend.

A very relaxing and huge park in middle of city. You can enjoy natural geothermal springs from very near. There are many different spring pools around here and each different from other. Great place for tourist who wants to enjoy geothermal springs.

Always a great walk through here. So much thermal activity, lovely gardens and walks. The new footpaths are great and it's all free. Saturday morning market is always fun

The place was lovely! It felt wonderful to soak my tired feet in the geothermal pool in winter! Do remember to bring a towel! (I forgot & had to use tissue paper) Nice park to walk around...

A little park in the middle of the city, easy access and parking. There is a hot foot bath and an amazing bridge over the geothermal lake surrounded by the smoke.

Cool park to check out. Brace for the sulfur smell and sulfur steam bath. Some parts of walking path are under construction.
