Volcan Concepcion, Isla de Ometepe

Most symetric volcan on earth. The climb to the top is not for begginers but it can be done in a 6 hours walk. Be sure to being enough water cause the second half is pretty hard as there is no trees, only volcans rocks, but the view us awesome. Be aware : the top is usually covered by clouds so if you reach the top, you have more chance to have the breath taking view if you leave in the morning !

Excellent hike, and the guide we were given was very knowledgable of the volcano and the path itself and was able to identify lots of plants along the way. Prepare for the humidity at the bottom. Prepare for the exposure at the top. You should get to a point where theres a bundle of walking sticks right before the incline increases, our guide said we could take them if we wanted to...do it, take one. On the day we hiked there was a ring of cloud surrounding the summit so once we got about 3/4 of the way up visibility was quite poor, but it did nothing to lessen the experience. The last couple hundred yards can be intimidating and you get to crawling on hands and knees at times, but I still recommend this to any avid hikers who want a unique challenge. Our time round trip was just under 6 hours

Very nice hike up the volcano. Windy at the top.

Hiked to the summit. My guide did not want to go to the top so i hiked up alone wind at my back to avoid the gas cloud. 50-60 degree angle up and down. Decent was much harder on the lower body. Felt it for days after. AWESOME EXPERIENCE if you like a challenge.
