  • There is precious little to do/see in Managua so this little historical display was a good outing. Being underground meant it was slightly cooler. A guide makes all the difference.

  • Closed on Saturdays and Sundays apparently (according to the security guard on duty, there is zero official signage, I arrived on a Saturday). Be aware that this is not a good area to get dropped off without a place to get into. If you find it closed, hold your taxi to take you back.
  • The exhibit, the actual footprints, are worth visiting, 10,000 years oh history you can see. You can almost see the family unit, 10-12 people, walking barefoot in front of you. The humble structure housing these relics betrays the lack of funding for this treasure of America's history. Go see!
  • Fascinating little archeological site with 8000 year old footprints in volcanic rock
  • Super
  • It is a simple but very important museum to learn about the first settlers of Central America, the entrance costs less than $1, the guides are super friendly and prepared for any question, the footprints have been preserved in an exceptional way, they do not have parking but outside the security guard take care of your car. I recommend it not because of the infrastructure but because of the quality of the guides and their good preparation3. Highly recommended. PS- the neighborhood where it is located is not so safe, do not carry valuables in plain sight. Preferably do not arrive by public transport.
