Ulriken, Bergen

Great view - you can either hike up or get the cable car. There is a small restaurant at the top. The walk from the top to Floyen is about 15km and takes 5 hours if you are not an experienced mountain top walker. The first part of the trek is a bit confusing to follow as it is only signposted by small poles and you're going away from the end destination. Once you're along the ridge, it's easier to follow the tors. The terrain is quite rocky and lots of small ups and downs - you want waterproof, sturdy walking shoes and even then, it's not an easy walk. However, many locals will race past you and make the walk (or they might be running) look a breeze!

Absolutely amazing place. Can recommend hiking up to this mountain instead of using a cable-car, especially if the weather is nice. Even as fat person as me could climb to the mountain in 1.5 hours without any issues. The views are rewarding.

I was hiking to Ulriken from Blåmanen, yes I gotta admit it was a bit too much to go and took a lot of time and energy. But still I have no regret to hike here, it was beautiful and fun.

We did a hike late March. We took a rather long one. It was amaaaaazing though kinda hard at some point. We may have lost the path so we just tried to go up. There was some snow (well, when you don't have the adequate gear, it can seem a lot) which made the hike harder than it should've been. Still, it was amazing and I would totally recommend going up mount Ulriken in the longest and hardest way possible ^^ it's more fun 😊
