Trollpikken
Trollpikken (the Troll's Dick) is a rock formation in Eigersund municipality, in Norway, between Kjervall and Veshovda. A rock jutting out from a cliff face to a height of almost 12 metres (39 ft) resembles an erect penis. In June 2017, the rock was severed using power tools; it was reattached the following month after a crowdfunding campaign.Put Trollpikken on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Egersund travel itinerary planner.
The local tourist board was discussing using Trollpikken to draw tourists in a similar manner to Trolltunga (the troll's tongue) and Preikestolen (the preacher's pulpit) by providing parking when on June 24, 2017, joggers discovered that the approximately 10-tonne (9.8-long-ton; 11-short-ton) formation had been severed using power tools. 226,000 kroner was raised online to reattach it using a crane assembled on-site; a contractor told a Norwegian TV station, "We have the Viagra it takes." It was successfully reattached on July 7, using a combination of cement, glue and metal fittings. By late that month, parking and signs had been provided and NRK reported that at least one suspect had been arrested for the vandalism.
Kjetil Bentsen named the rock formation in January 2017; an effort is underway to have it marked on maps. A staff member at the Romsdal Museum indicated that numerous rock formations in Norway have similarly humorous names, although pikk is a relatively new word in the language for the penis. Bentsen and one other have applied to the Norwegian Patent Office for trademark rights to the name.

Nice hike. First part is on gravel road, then the path is a bit more muddy/wet/worn. Use walking boots not trainers. Scenery is unique. Worth the trip for that. Is a “there and back” trip with...

Little hike to get there from the parking of about 2km. It was very muddy when we did it so I recommend good hiking shoes. Our 5 year old daughter did it without trouble. We really liked it. 100NOK for parking. Possible to use credit card for it.

I thought this was a good quick hike. There are so many amazing hikes in this part of Norway and this one doesn’t really hold up to Preikestolen or Trolltunga, but it also much shorter. This only took about 30 minutes to get to the rock. There are a ton of wind turbines on the horizon once you get to the trollpriken which is kind of cool but at the same time spoils the natural scenery. The parking was somewhat confusing. It was down the road a ways from the start of the trail and there is another trail entrance located on the parking lot. Don’t use that one. It goes nowhere. Once you park, follow the paved road you took to get there for about a quarter mile further and you will find the entrance.

Short, but nice and easy tour

Nice road

Must go if you are in the area. The views and the walk there are beautiful. Leave the car in the designated parking lot, remember to pay for it, and walk for about 1 hour. During the evening on summer it's very nice. The road could be muddy if it rained recently. Take some snacks and drinks and enjoy it on the rocks.
