At Voringsfossen, one of Norway's best-known waterfalls, view rushing water tumbling from a height of 182 m (597 ft). Find a spot to pull off Highway 7, the road that connects Oslo with Bergen, and follow the path that leads to the base of the waterfall. For a view from above, park outside the Fosslie Hotel (for a fee) and walk to the vantage point as you observe the deep canyon and forested mountains that surround the falls. You'll find multiple areas for hiking and picnicking nearby. Plan to see Voringsfossen and other attractions that appeal to you using our Eidfjord Municipality trip planner.

  • We took a bus tour over to Voss. Up the Voss Gondol for lunch then took the train to Geilo where we boarded a bus back to Eidfjord. Stopping at Voringfossen was a highlight in a fabulous day.

  • An amazing Saturday roadtrip. We picked this day becuase it was cloudy weather (always check the weather before visiting). The sign road from the highway was visible so it was easy to drive up to the moubtain. Along the road (zigzag like) I saw beautiful autumn trees (I was hoping to stop by) it will take like around 30 mins to drove up to the pick. If you see the parking area don't stop there because from there you have to walk all the way to the hotel. We asked someone there how to get to the main parking area. He said that from the main road just keep driving straight and follow the sign there you got to the main parking and less walking. There's the public toilet up there, vintage hotel look like and the main attractions to see the running waterfalls. Always watch your steps when walking there. It wasn't snow on the railing where you got o see the waterfalls but the flooring was wet and snow spotted everywhere. It was cold but not windy at all so it was a good choice to visit there. Enjoy
  • The best waterfall in Norway I have seen. 1 hour from Kinsarvik camping.
  • Unbelievably beautiful canyon and waterfall. We had the best of luck for weather to be sunny and a rainbow to appear on the bottom. Really wonderful place, easily the most beautiful I've been to...
  • Lovely area. When you finally find a parking space ..
  • Fantastic view and perfect platform system for wheelchair users and everyone else. You can stand outside the cliff and look straight down into the waterfall.
