  • This hike is quite challenging, expect some climbing, but so worth it. The kids (10&12) loved the challenges and the adults enjoyed the view.

  • From the parking lot you get your first glimpse of the glacier. Parking cost 150NOK a day and you pay by credit card when leaving. From the parking lot you follow a marked path. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery, the walk is as much of the event as the glacier itself. The trip is close to 3 km one way, and with normal walking speed you will use 3-4 hours in total. Most of the time you walk on rocks and boulders and there are also some parts where you need to use the fixed ropes to climb or rappel. No climbing experience or equipment is needed, but you would benefit from having good leg and arm strength. Good hiking shoes are required, and don't forget to bring warm clothes as you end up 650 meters higher than you started and cold winds from the glacier pours down the valley. You won’t be able to walk on the glacier itself as a meltwater river stream at the base blocks your way. Enjoy!
  • One of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever done (and I live in Switzerland where we have so many stunning hikes). This hike doesn’t take long, less than 3 hours if you’re in good shape, and the variety of terrain you see - mountains, glacier, forest, streams, waterfalls - is spectacular. The trail is rocky and steep in parts, requiring use of ropes and ladders to scramble up some of the slopes. You also have to cross a few muddy, wet areas, so be sure to wear good hiking shoes. Enjoy!
  • Very well designed track and entertaining for kids. Physically demanding. Great views of Buarbreen glacier. We decided to change our plans from Trolltunga (too long) to this glacier instead. It was a right decision. Really worth the hike
  • Short hike just before the glacier. The view was beautiful 😍
  • Awesome, sometimes challenging walk to the glacier. I had imagined the the glacier will be bigger, but from the place where it is safe to look at it it seems small an far away.
