Replete with numerous small islands and winding waterways, Oslofjord and its surrounding environs play home to a large portion of Norway's population. Though more a bay than a stereotypical fjord, the site's geographical impact on the surrounding area throughout history has been significant. Tour the sounds and harbors of the fjord to discover the different cultures and traditions that have developed on different islands, many unique to that particular zone. Use a tour boat, kayak, or canoe to explore the coastal landscape and its accompanying historical sights, including ruined monasteries, old waterfront homes, and vintage lighthouses. After touring, kick back with a drink or a bite to eat at one of the many cafes and restaurants along the sea nearby. For Oslofjord and beyond, use our Oslo online journey planner to get the most from your Oslo vacation.

Beautiful sea! The sunset here is something else. Many ways to travel these waters by boat, ferry or even a big cruise. Big part of Oslo’s identity

Do not think people visiting Oslo know how beautiful the Oslofjord is. Highly recommend that you take a tour boat or better still a regular ferry (much cheaper) to see what I mean
