Tour the World Heritage Site of Bahla Fort, a vast mud-brick fortress, built during the 13th and 14th centuries. The fort was constructed by the Nabhani dynasty, rulers of the region at the time, but fell into disrepair throughout the ages, until it was recently extensively restored. Admire the towering fort walls, nestled on a sandstone foundation, explore its nooks and crannies, and enjoy the vista of the surroundings from the hilltop castle. • Like a maze, well restored maze with great views from towers! A lot of rooms to see, many steps and definitely worth to see. Entrance fees are 3 OMR, open from 9 to 16:00.

  • Dazzling panoramic views around this wide open fort. We were one of only a few tourists on visiting this fort early in the day on a weekday. The surrounding mountain views are just gorgeous.
  • Well maintained fort, with great views over the town. Can spend quite a while here wandering around. You can even see some small bats in some of the darker walkways
  • Should be one of the top list to visit in Oman. Well maintained with very affordable entrance fee. But the tourist is far below expected. It’s is one of the unesco world heritage sites , try not to miss if you are visiting Oman
  • The fort is well preserved and some parts were renovated. The fort itself is historical. However, if you are going by yourself without a guide, it is impossible to know what were the uses of all the rooms inside back in the days. There were no details, no information, nothing. It would be better to see some posters and photos of the fort back in those days if they have and informations should be there about the fort, what were the rooms used for, etc. The entrance fee is 3 rial for each person. The person in the entrance fee collecting fees said that they are planning to make better changes soon. But the idea of building a coffee shop inside is a No for me.
  • Bahla fort is a fascinating place, where you can find a political, cultural or social story behind every wall and window. Bahla fort is within the UNESCO world heritage sites. An amazing place to escape and wander. Any car type can reach the location, entry fees are affordable & a good parking lot. Enjoy!
