Create an itinerary including Tipon
Admire the sophistication of Incan engineering when you travel to Tipon. The ancient civilization once used this temple complex to worship water, the element of central importance to their culture. Some also postulate that it served as a park and for irrigation purposes. Terraces, fountains, and aqueducts run throughout the complex with water still flowing through most of them, imparting a serene atmosphere. Take the Inca trails around the complex to get a good look at the structure. The attraction doesn't tend to get crowded, so you can enjoy your visit at your own pace. Put Tipon on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Cusco driving holiday planner.

  • A really good example of the Inca genius when it comes to their knowledge of hydraulics. Highly recommended to hire the Valle del Sur tour which will include this site along with Pikillacta.

  • Beautiful views of valley. The fountains along the massive terrace platforms are still working hundreds of years later One of the best spots on the Cusco General Ticket package
  • Beautiful views, the complex irrigation system still in full operation. A truly engineering masterpiece.
  • This spectacular site is well worth visiting. Unlike Machu Picchu, the fountains, all of them, flow with water just as they did 500 years ago. I was suffering from altitude sickness, and almost passed on visiting, but was very glad that I manned-up. The fourteen foot high terraces have their, apparently, original steps. One fountain is the classic triple rivlet seen in all the tourist photos. We were the only Anglo visitors for at least three hours.
  • Very nice place in the south valley of Cusco. Its main attractions are the big terrace and the water canals that made possible high-level agriculture for the Incas.
  • This site has a completely working water and search system that runs perfectly still to this day. It's amazing totally amazing Make sure you see it it's very well preserved
