  • This construction served as sort of customs control for the Incas in the south of Cusco towards Puno. It is very interesting to see and can easily be combined with visiting the lake nearby.

  • I like this archaeological site. A Wari (Huari) aqueduct that was once used to take water to the archaeological complex of Pikillaqta. Later modified by the Incas (maybe used as a control point), the site also accommodates a section of Capac Ñan (Inca imperial road) connecting Cusco to the Collasuyu quarter of Tahuantinsuyu (Inca empire). Take time to look carefully around this site as there are many hidden secrets to be found...and please, don't climb on the walls!
  • These are Wari constructions that were improved by the Incans. There are three pyramids that acted as an aqueduct to the nearby city of Pitillakta. You can see Incan stone and wari stone.
  • Great opportunity to see Wari construction with Inca improvements. Parking is close, easy walk to the structure, particularly enjoyed seeing the Cusco - Puno Inca highway. Short climb to take it all in. Free.
  • The history shows part of itself. Big walls for know about the Waris and Inkas. It's a short space but it's epic .
  • There is no entrance fee and just a pullover off of the road to see this cool, ancient structure that mixes megalithic stone blocks and the more patchwork style.
