Create an itinerary including Huascaran
Huascaran represents a large national park known for its high-peaked mountain ranges and mountaineering opportunities. The park earned its World Heritage Site ranking thanks in large part to being home to Cordillera Blanca, the world’s tallest tropical mountains. This Peruvian paradise boasts 340,000 hectares (840,158 acres) to explore, and is home to a diverse range of wildlife, such as spectacled bears and Andean condors. Visitors come here to take advantage of the many trekking routes, which tend to be less busy than other spots and still home to indigenous communities. For hard-core outdoor adventurers, the mountains provide a real challenge. Rising from 3,500 m to 6,768 m (11,483 ft to 22,205 ft), the peaks are perennially snow-capped and tantalizing to experienced climbers and mountaineers. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Huascaran National Park holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Huascaran and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • A lot of wonderful lagunas on the altitude more than 4.000 meters, a lot of wonderful mountains, who deserves to trek or to climb on them.

  • Mount Huascaran, Spanish Nevado Huascarán, mountain peak of the Andes of west-central Peru. The snowcapped peak rises to 22,205 feet (6,768 m) above sea level in the Cordillera Blanca, east of the Peruvian town of Yungay. It is the highest mountain in Peru and is a favourite of mountaineers and tourists. In 1962 a thaw caused a portion of the sheer north summit to break off, resulting in an avalanche that destroyed several villages and killed about 3,500 persons. In 1970 a severe earthquake caused landslides that buried 10 villages and most of Yungay; tens of thousands of people were killed in one of the worst natural disasters of the 20th century. Amazing.
