Perched atop a ridge, with plummeting cliffs on either side, Pisac and the landscape surrounding them transport visitors to another time. Built in the 15th century, the once-great citadel served a triple purpose, with evidence of religious, military, and agricultural structures. Local residents still use the brilliantly designed, tiered plots of land for farming purposes. Allow two hours to climb up to the ruined citadel, a few hours for exploration while you're there, and one hour to get back down to town. Bring water and snacks for the trek. Make Pisac a part of your Pisac vacation plans using our Pisac day trip planning website.

If you are on your way to Machu Picchu you should stop in Pisac to see the Incan town and agriculture 'ruins' - they are in great shape. Need admission ticket. You can climb the town ruins to see the structures and the fantastic views; and the burial site in the side of the mountain.
