Żywe Muzeum Piernika, Torun

Very interesting, hands on experience far from stiffened lecturing. Maybe sometimes too direct but without breaking the boundaries of good taste. The interior decor and equipment carefully chosen. The form is close to a theatrical play. In two floors, one medieval manufacture and second 19 th century manufacturing. Course of gingerbread decoration, and overall immersion in the historical periods are a plus. Unfortunately it is quite “crowdy” and everyone should wear mask inside as closeness is inevitable. Great for children and parents. Sessions are bought out early before each day so make sure you buy it in advance as on the spot you may be too late. After the session you will get your self-made figurative gingerbread to place on your Christmas tree.

You need to reserve 1.5 h for visit there. We booked this visit online. There was either in Polish or English. A little funny, more for children.

We had a great time with my family in the museum, they run a really engaging and interactive presentation telling you everything there is to know about Pierniki. The staff created a really fun atmosphere for parents and children while doing so. I really recommend you visit this place when you come to Torun. Make sure you get your tickets early on as they towards the end of the day they sell out.

Kids enjoyed the visit very much. Lots of laugh and tasty gingerbred mixed with history of gingerbread making.
