Create an itinerary including Nowy Swiat
Take a stroll down one of the city's most historical thoroughfares, Nowy Swiat. Part of the Royal Route, the boulevard was once home to an array of palaces and stately buildings, but was almost entirely destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. At the war's end, it was restored to resemble its 19th century appearance. Admire the array of striking architecture, shop in the area's stores, and stop for a coffee or bite to eat in one of the vibrant cafes and restaurants. Be aware, the street is popular with locals and visitors alike and can get very busy. Take a look at our Warsaw route planner to schedule your visit to Nowy Swiat and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Very pleasant street, lined with shops, churches, attractive buildings, and many cafes and restaurants. This is the southern part of the Royal Road of Kings, connecting with Krakowskie Przedmiescie.

  • Nice street for walking, many restaurants and beautiful buildings. I missed some shops (books, antiques, ceramic, something typical for Poland or anything), only restaurants and that is all. But...
