Established in the late 13th century around the time the city itself was founded, Rynek Starego Miasta served as the commercial and cultural heart of Warsaw for several centuries. The large public space hosted regular fairs and occasional executions. One of the city's great survivors, the square was bombed in 1939 and destroyed in 1944 after the Warsaw Uprising. The houses surrounding the square, painstakingly restored in the years following World War II, blend Renaissance and Baroque architectural styles. The square also features the city's main historical museum and is a natural starting or ending point for your tour of the city. • Old Town Square of Warsaw. You need to be physically here to feel and experience the charm of this old town square. Cobblestone streets, old buildings, etc - simply amazing! The square is surprising big. Definitely a must visit when you are in town! Very near the presidential palace also.
  • This is one of the must-see places in Warsaw. You may not see anything special about this place on your first visit because it's the same as other Old Town squares in Europe. However, you will come again for no reason. The streets are clean and spacious. Many decent restaurants are waiting for you to try them out. And the quality is worth the price.
  • Absolutely stunning place both in the daylight and during the night. Many different places to eat with outstanding traditional food and many souvenir shops many of which have handmade items. Many people perform here and enjoy the view of Polish architecture.
  • Very nice square in Warsaw. Plenty of restaurants and places to drink. We went during Christmas and they had a great ice skating rink, food, and drink stands. Loved our visit.
  • Beautiful town square. Visited ourselves first but then had a tour and saw and learnt so much more. Great options for eating, having a drink or coffee. Lovely atmosphere- looking forward to coming back
