Market Hall (Hala Targowa)
Wrocław Market Hall was designed by Richard Plüddemann and built between 1906-08 as the Breslauer Markthalle Nr 1, when the city was part of Germany. It is situated by Ulica Piaskowa, at the junction of Plac Nankiera and Ulica Sw. Ducha close to Market Square, Wrocław and oldest districts of Wrocław. The Hall was completed along with similar building at Ulica Kolejowa. Both buildings were created in order to organize street trading in the city center. Once completed, all street markets have been moved into the newly opened halls. The building was not severely damaged during the World War II and continued to be used as originally intended shortly after. It was completely renovated between 1980-83. The Wrocław Market Hall remains one of the biggest traditional markets in the city. The Kolejowa Hall was destroyed during the war and removed in 1973.ArchitectureThe hall was renowned for its then innovative application of reinforced concrete trusses, which was unique in Europe at the time. Our Wroclaw tour site makes visiting Market Hall (Hala Targowa) and other Wroclaw attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Excellent indoor market. Well worth a wander. Lovely flowers, excellent fruit n veg. Meats and cured meats galore. Coffee stops and small hot foid cafes. The craft beer bar below has limited opening hours. Been a couple if times.
-
A large traditional market hall that features some interesting cathedral like arches made from concrete. Some great views from upstairs while the downstairs stalls are packed with all types of fresh produce. There are also some cafes and a bar for visitors.
-
A real true fresh open hall market, again I can not get over how clean and tidy this place is. Fresh fruit , vegetables, meat, fish. Sweets it's all here.

It's great that places like that still exists! A lot of local shops with good quality products. Fishes, vegetables, fruits and most of all coffee! If you are in Wrocław and close to this place make sure to drop by and even if you are not going to bu anything just to walk around the shops and see how cool it is!

Very much a functioning market hall geared towards locals eg meat, fruit, vegetables etc. Still worth a detour if on your way to Cathedral Island. Very cheap food can be bought sold by small kitchens at side of hall - good staple fare such as pork with potatoes & vegetables or pierogi. Think we paid about £5 GBP for two lunches.
