Create an itinerary including Arrifana Beach
Backed by dramatic cliffs rising over the golden sands, Arrifana Beach makes an intimate-yet-breathtaking getaway. The cliffs provide some protection from the winds, so waves stay small and manageable. For this reason, the Blue Flag beach is particularly popular with surfers and body surfers. Look up and spot Castle Arrifana, the 12th-century ruins thought to be the one-time residence of a prince. Look for ruins from several mosques nearby, too. Steps provide access to the beach from the village, where you can go for food and accommodation. Note that the steps are somewhat steep. You'll find restrooms, showers, and lifeguards on site. • It’s a overcrowded beach for surf, mainly in July and August. Nice beach for beginner. Be aware that the crowed is huge. If you are in a “no rules and no ethic surf” is the place to go for surf.

  • Beautiful large and chill beach, lots of surfers, not very big waves, good for a whole day at the beach

  • Beautiful spot. We came many times for surfing, unfortunately it's crowded when conditions are good. We did walk down the way, view is amazing, walk on the beach any season is great. There is restroom down the beach, always open and clean.
  • Wonderful beach with beautiful scenery and crystal clear water
  • One of the nicest, most beautiful view, beach towns, on the coast of Portugal 🇵🇹 with a spectacular Cliffview and nice little restaurants and Surfing spot 🌊🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️ Don’t let the beautiful view deceive you the ocean there can be a really rough and dangerous I lost one of my fins there in the water and got out of the water breathless after a swall of big waves came Spend there one night and two days and meet nice people Definitely worth a visit
  • Absolutely mind blowing waves. The color of the water is insane. The sea is so crystal clear. Many surfers.
  • Great beach, ideal for surfing. Weather is like the Atlantic should be: if its warm is wonderful, if its clowdy can be chilly and humid...
