Gezo Marques started the Oficina Marques project for the need to materialize and tell stories with their own hands, currently the project is shared with artist José Aparício Gonçalves.

Together they form a team that celebrates the cycles of life, memories, scars and second chances, all with a great sense of humor.

Today Oficina Marques has a wide reach, having pieces and interior design projects spread around the world, counting and being part of new narratives.

In love with objects. They have street, nature, markets and life histories as permanent sources of inspiration, from which they collect objects and materials. In fact most of the process is collecting, in a constant search and discovery to make new connections.

"Let's save and accumulate, so the workshop is like a large waiting room where pieces of wood, pottery, furniture or old dolls await a new life and history."

Creating over "things that have already been" allows us to exercise the way we look at objects, because they are like a skeleton that already exists and we give new skin and clothing. It is a work of creating other ways of seeing, of thinking the world and ourselves.

With a multifaceted and plural work, the pieces are unique and exclusive. It is possible to affirm that there is life within each piece, the result of the mutual dialogue between artists and materials.

  • We stumbled upon this gem on our last day in Lisbon, met the artists partner and had to bring this lovely piece home with us. Cute spot, lovely art, and friendly people. Definitely worth a stop in :)

  • One of our favorite places in Lisbon. It's impossible to resist the pull of Gezo and José's creative energy and artwork in this gorgeous gallery / atelier in the heart of the Bairro Alto. Our collection keeps growing.
  • Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Beautiful stuff! Very recommendable especially for ceramics fans. We were explained everything in great detail and even got to see the stuff in making! The workshop is right behind the store and also open to visitors. The pretty mug and plate are now decorating our kitchen. ;)
  • A beautiful Cabinet of Curiosities where you can loose yourself and track of time quite easily... Creativity and peacefulness mixed together and exposed at their best. One of my favs hotspots in Lisbon, for sure. Gezo and José are a delight to be around. I highly recommend it.
  • Beautiful shop/gallery with unique works. Worth a visit.
  • It’s on my list of places to visit in Lisbon! All the pieces are amazing and truly representative of the Portuguese culture with a modern look. As an admirer living abroad I bought a couple of item online and the service was flawless! Keep on the good work! See you soon guys!
