At Rossio Square, one of the main squares in Portugal since the Middle Ages, see Baroque ornamental fountains and monuments, have a coffee, and browse through a variety of colorful flowers for sale. Visit cafes that date back to the 18th century and check out the shops selling traditional pastries and spirits. See a 27 m (89 ft) column of King Pedro IV, who was also the first Emperor of Brazil. Snap photos of the 1840 neoclassical national theater, take a look around the 1887 Neo-Manueline train station, or walk along the cobblestone paths of this popular square. This square is absolutely beautiful. Fountains, statuary, wavy cobblestones, lots of cafes, great people-watching. I wish we had had more time to spend more time.

Great fun at the Christmas Market. The usual suspects as far as stalls go, but really good selections of Christmas eat treats and of course my personal favourite- the Ginja stall 😄

Gorgeous place! Grandeur of Neo-Classical architecture of the Teatro National. Beautiful fountains on the different sides of the imperial statue of Dom Pedro lV. The wave-patterned mosaic of the square is magical. Rolling Motion Square, definitely. X-mas illumination and decoration - just fabulous. There are lots of souvenir shops and cafés here. X-mas market must not be missed!
