Create an itinerary including Praia da Nazare
Big waves and wide sandy swaths make Praia da Nazare one of the most popular spots along the country's Atlantic coastline. Due to its geography and strong ocean currents, this beach often sees monster breakers in excess of 20 m (78 ft), a huge draw for some of the world's top surfers. In addition to record-breaking waves, the beach offers easy access to the nearby town of Nazare, a busy tourist resort packed with trendy shops and award-winning seafood restaurants. The current is extremely strong here, even on calm days, so watch out for the really big swells, and keep an eye on the weakest swimmers in your party. • A lovely beach with plenty of vendors along the beachfront road. Jet ski and other toy rentals. of particular interest are the fish drying racks and fun locals selling their dried octopus, sardines...

  • We stopped here very briefly while driving north to Porto. We didn't see the colossal surf that Nazare is known for (darn!).

  • Spent a wonderful day walking the beaches and city. Great place and out of season was quiet but main restaurants still open.

  • Great place to visit we had such fun. The water was very cold but refreshing. Sooooo beautiful it was just breathe taking
  • Stunning sandy beach with amazing waves. Can walk for miles. Plenty of lovely shops and restaurants behind it. Could certainly camp here for the day.
  • Is a stunning beach with the cliff overhanging. Very windy day, and too rough in the waves at the beach to swim, so the lifeguards had the red flag up. We still enjoyed some time relaxing in the sun between gusts of sand swept up in the wind. Honestly was lovely despite it
  • Lovely town of Nazaré, famous nowadays for the biggest waves in the world but this enchanting place has so much more to give ! An amazing place to have incredible fresh, delicious and CHEAP seafood ! 🦐🐙🦞🦑🦀 Get lost in the narrow alleys, meet the Nazaré ladies and try the local cuisine Watch the sunset at the top of the hill and if you're lucky, watch some amazing giant waves crashing against the rocks 🌊
  • One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to. The scenery is amazing, with high cliffs and large bays. I liked the descent with the cable car!
