  • Nice not too strenuous walk in the forest above the beach. Huge boulders are withstanding the power of waves, part of eroding coast.

  • Park at Surfers Beach and hike the path for about 35 min each way. I hiked in flip flops, but closed toed shoes recommended. It opens up to a beautiful rocky waterway that is worth the short hike. There’s not much to see after the larger opening, but it will take you to the next beach. We never found the arch that is shown.
  • One of the most beautiful places in PR. It took us approximate 30 minutes each way. Make sure you bring your sneakers so you can finish the trail. Absolutely awesome!!
  • Very nice beach and easy hike. No need for hiking shoes. We used regular water shoes and it was fine. Just make sure they aren’t slippery. Also you will get a free acupuncture to your legs 😉. The trail was easy to find but make sure to stay on trail especially when going back.
  • Beautiful hike. Wear shoes and carry a backpack for your all your stuff. The beach is tranquil, private and perfect for swimming.
  • Wow! One of our favorite beaches here in Puerto Rico so far! The beach where you park is a bit rocky and we saw more windsurfers there. However, if you invest in the 15-20 min walk to the actual Survival beach with the boulders, it’s well worth it. Hike isn’t difficult, just scrambling over tree roots and smaller rocks. There is one narrow area with a steep slope to left. I’d be a bit nervous with younger ones but it’s definitely doable. Lots of little ones did it. Once you make it to the end, really cool boulders and a nice ‘wading pool’ for swimMing/ relaxing. Wear good shoes for the hike.
