The square where the statue is located is a lovely meeting spot and surrounded by bars and restaurants. Big impressive Statue with St Michaels in the background. Great photo opportunity.

It's a nice viking sculpture, actually I would say that it's the most beautiful sculpture in Cluj-Napoca, it's totally worth going and there are many things around to visit too

It is a massive statue complex inaugurated in 1901 representing Mathias Corvinus Rex on a horse and others around him. It is the central piece of the square where it is located. It is a common meeting point, people usually meet at the tail of the horse.

An absolute gorgeous are to visit around Christmas time. Christmas music playing, little wooden lodes ( store fronts) all lit up selling hand made goods, mugs of hot chocolate and tea, a carousal, Historic buildings and Monuments, hot chimney cakes (hollow cakes covered in cinnamon sugar, cooked over a fire), and the sound of people laughing on the outdoor skating rink. When we went in 2014 Coca Cola and Santa Clause also happened to be there. Literally the most perfect "hallmark Christmas" you can imagine.
