Strongly recommend for a quick historical incursion. Compact and well organized, well balanced with modern multimedia content. Nicely handled with tea and sweets testing at the end of the tour.

Cozy museum with different types of information providing from storytelling to interactive screens. English subs for videos is a big plus. Very tasty tea in the end of tour made my day.

The Old Tatar Sloboda, located in the western part of the historical center of the capital of Tatarstan, is the territory of residence of the Tatar population after Kazan was annexed to the Russian state from the middle of the 16th century. This is a great place for walking and learning about the life of the Tatar people. Walking along the streets of this settlement, united in a unique historical and architectural ensemble, we were able to touch the original history, life and culture of the local Tatar population, see typical Muslim temples - mosques, wooden and stone merchant mansions that have been preserved here since the 19th century, and throughout relics to feel the national flavor and spirit of the Muslim side of Kazan. For example, the house of the Alapaev family and the Alapaevskaya mosque.
