With over 100 years of history, Moscow Zoo provides a place for you and your family to view and interact with animals. Founded in 1864, the zoo suffered from negelect in the 1980s, but it has been renovated and built out extensively. View over 6,000 animals of 1,000 species, and see the recently added aquarium, aviary, and exhibits of sea lions and nocturnal animals. Other highlights include the penguin pool, big cats, and primate house. Young kids will enjoy the children's zoo, which features animals from fairy tales. • Most of the enclosures were very small. Furthermore, there was only 1 real bathroom, the rest were trucks with a capacity of 2 people. 800 rubles was far too much to pay for such a small zoo

  • Interesting place a zoo in city! But i guess visit here in summer is not good idea. Animals and you too might be tired with the heat. The ticket price is 800 ruble for one person. But i think its kinda expensive then i could enjoy this place. If you are traveler and have lots of days then you can visit here just for relax. That's all
  • Nice experience, we were travelling to Moscow and my little one really enjoyed meeting the animals. The zoo has 2 sections and lots of animal species, you will need to walk a lot to cover the whole park
  • Easily gets crowded. At every indoors pavilion huge crowds and lines. So much for Zoo in the center of the city. Although the area with small and great ponds is very nice. Amazing they even have big colony of pink flamingo
  • The zoo is quite a good place to see animals in the heart of Moscow but a word of warning - staff might change the price of the visits to the zoo at the last minute. We ended up paying more than the advertised price because the administration decided to change the price. Great afternoon out never the less!
  • One of the finer zoos I have been to in my life. Nothing like a sore legs and a parched throat to signify a day well spent. The zoo has it all, from a diverse array of land creatures like tigers and polar bears to tiny insects and colourful birds. The zoo is rather large so it's worth a visit for all ages. Students get free entry too so it would be a waste not to experience it.
