Devine African Safaris, Kigali

My wife and I had an incredible, once in a lifetime trip last week visiting Uganda and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to do the 2 day gorilla trek tour. We cannot say enough about the experience and our guide, Lucky. Before our tour even began, the company worked with me to create a specialized itinerary. We were picked up from our hotel in Kigali by Lucky and were driven to Uganda. Lucky assisted us with all of the logistics at the border (we seriously would have been lost without him) and took special care in driving us through Uganda, which is certainly no easy task!! We did a one hour relaxing canoe ride and then went to our beautiful hotel, the 4 Gorillas Lodge. The place was serene and located directly in the forest. The only thing we were sad about was not opting to stay there more days!!! The staff was SO kind and the food was delicious. The next day Lucky drove us to the start of the gorilla trek and even spoke with the gorilla guides about trying to find a closer family to visit due to our long drive back to Kigali. Lucky proved to be lucky and sure enough we found our gorilla family within 1 hour! We got to see the silver back, a few mother gorillas, and 5 babies including a 3 week year old!! After our amazing tour, we headed back to Kigali and Lucky was even kind enough to take us to our dinner location after we checked into our hotel. I cannot say enough about our overall experience! We had a wonderful few days trip, organised by Nicholas at Devine Safarid Ltd. :-). My boyfriend and I had booked a trip, travelling around Rwanda, and later found that we could also travel across the border into Uganda to Bwindi Forest. I got in touch with Nicholas to ask about options and we arranged to be picked up in Kigali, and dropped off in Ruhengeri in Rwanda, to resume our travels. Our guide was Ronald, and he was really great and professional. The border crossing at cyanika was pretty fast and smooth. We went in rainy season, so needed the 4wd Landcruiser to get around some places, especially close to Bwindi. The lodge Nicholas arranged for us was also cool, with an amazing view of the volcanoes across the lake. The only mistake we made was not to spend more time in Uganda, as the scenery was really breathtaking, and the people we met were very nice. Thanks very much, can definitely recommend Devine, and would love to visit again. :-)

We’ve just finished an amazing 5 day trip with Devine African Safaris - we did chimpanzee and gorilla trekking in Uganda. Nicholas (the owner) was responsive and helpful as we planned our trip. Nicholas (our driver) was awesome. He adapted to our needs and made us feel comfortable. He was knowledgeable about Ugandan wildlife and went out of his way to ensure we had as many opportunities as possible to see amazing animals. My husband and I booked a trip for four days with gorilla trekking and we were sooooo thrilled with our experience! We were lucky enough to have Emma C. as our guide for the trip… He was absolutely the reason for the awesome experience! Right from the start he was friendly, professional and full of knowledge. Spending a lot of time with a “stranger” in a new country can be intimidating, but spending time with Emma felt like hanging out with an old friend. Would definitely book with Devine Africa again and would request Emma EVERY time!
