Spanning 7,000 hectares (12,297 acres), this protected area attracts various species of migrating birds, including pink flamingos, pelicans, herons, sea gulls, and egrets. • Cool place not far from Dakar, with nice restaurants around. In time of our visit it wasn't stuffed, it was nice and quiet.

  • Calm, clean and beautiful place to visit. You can get a one hour boat ride through the lagoon for around 20 euro. Staff are honest and uncomplicated, prices are fixed. There are local restaurants with fresh seafood etc. Also some fancy hotels/resorts. Beaches here are sparkling clean and there are places suitable for families/kids. Highly recommended!
  • Highly recommended when on the Petite Cote. The ride in pirogue in the mangroves is a must have. We paid 10000 fcfa for two people with Paco.

  • Such a beautiful and peaceful boat ride through the mangroves! Seeing the different bird species up close and just being able to refuel with the beauty nature offers us. Highly recommend especially if you need to blow the cobwebs out of your mind so to speak. You can stop at one of the restaurants afterwards such as Chez Rasta, Chez Adam, Chez Ibra or any of the other ones like it, your guide can come and take you back to the "mainland" when you're ready to go. 😁.
