Create an itinerary including Emerald Hill
Away from the hustle and bustle of the district’s other shopping streets, Emerald Hill offers a calmer, more relaxed dining and retail experience. Located in this conservation area you'll find several wine bars as well as stalls serving local snacks, traditional finger foods, and restaurants serving international foods such as tapas. More than just a place to eat and shop, the neighborhood also provides a valuable slice of Singaporean history, having formerly belonged to the wealthy Peranakan community. Come here if only to survey the scenic, traditional Chinese baroque architecture of the houses, designed by the prominent architect R.T. Rajoo. • Very pretty little street that I found while walking around Orchad Street. Nice colonial houses now transformed in bars, restaurants, etc. By day or by night, is a nice place to drop by.
