Part of Slovakia's most extensive cave system, Demanovska Ice Cave boasts underground tunnels and permanent fixtures of ice. Visit the frozen cave and you'll be stepping into one of Europe's oldest caverns, as records date it as far back as the year 1299. Traverse the wooden walkways through the cave's 850 m (2,789 ft) of accessible space and marvel at towering ice stalagmites, stalactites, and floes covering much of the floor. You must join a guided tour in order to access the caves, and you'll pay a small fee in order to use a camera. A really interesting formation, it was a unique experience to "go from summer to the winter" for an hour. However the ice forms are more spectacular in winter season, it was very nice so.

May be this is cave from ice age. The Ice Cave name itself is not appropriate, we are of opinion. The parky space is huge.

We found this outing to be a complete waste of money. parking was 7 Euros. Entrance was 8 Euros each and we paid 10 Euro's for the privilege of taking photo's. The young man leading the 'tour' only.... more

Cave is interesting; but management is not the best. Tickets are paid only by cash and guiding is ONLY in Slovakian. It is +4 'C inside, so wear accordingly. Pram/trolley is a bad idea to get to the entrance. U need to walk uphill 15-20 minutes from parking lot to the entrance. İf u don't have small kids, u can park earlier and walk a bit. Entrance is every hour.

Visited ice cave in July 2022 so it should be called no-ice cave during this season. If you go there not in the weekend you probably will not be guided in English. There are better caves in Slovakia. Tickets are sold only in cash what it very odd in 2022. It costs 10 eur to take photos in cave - robbery during the day.

The caves are awesome! An amazing experience. The tour in given in Slovak so we didn’t understand anything The ice is long past it’s glory… very sad for earth But overall would recommend. It’s a great piece of historical nature.

Stunning cave the beat we have been in so far in slovakia even though there was not much ice due to the time of year. the guide was excellent even though I don't understand slovak I picked up on little bits as he was pointing things out throughout the cave hopefully will return in April when the ice is at its best.
