Create an itinerary including Pokljuka Gorge
Pokljuka Gorge dazzles hikers with its karst formations: natural bridges, overhangs, and caves. At the end of the Icea Age, a stream gouged a nearly 2 km (1.25 mi) ravine into limestone hills. The stream dried, leaving behind the largest fossil gorge in Slovenia. Keep an eye out for the Pokljuka Hole: a small cave with three natural windows and two entrances. The gorge's path is clearly marked and includes information panels. Wearing a helmet is advised due to the possibility of falling rocks, especially after heavy rains and in early spring. Planning Krnica trip won't be overwhelming when you use Klarna Trips's itinerary maker.

  • Short and nice walk through the forest passing one small cave. If you are in moderate condition you'll easily make it. We also met some families whit childrens. It is for free with free parking etc...

  • Beautiful walk through the forest. Bring a map since the markings of the track are not always visible/present.

  • The gorge is beautiful and at some point under a meter wide. But the walk there is about 45 minutes and not very easy. If you are in to hiking it’s great, if not, you have to consider skipping...

  • Beautiful gorge with caves and natural bridge. Its not very famous so it's less crouded. A must see in Slovenia. Also suitable for kids. It's about 2-3 h visit is you go slow and take the longer way and short launch brake. Pay attention in spring and after rain, there might be falling rocks! Helmet is recommended.
  • Wild and stunning place for a short hike between dry gorges. Less known but as amazing as other place to visit near bled. You can reach them by car by going in the end of a small one line road. The trail starts in the forest and loop to the gorges. It is also part of longer thru hiking trails.
  • Pure nature. Really recommend. It is very humid and slippery all the way, so be prepared, take good walking shoes. Lot of things to see, on the way. The path runs on a old dry river bed. You can walk for a long time, depends when you will turn and go back. There are some circular paths. The gorge is absolutely amazing! I would give 6 starts if I could.
  • Almost hidden parking spot and start of a great hike of the Pokljuka Gorge. The route is pretty challenging and you need some directions (at least we did). Start at the parking spot and after 10 min there are signs for the gallery or the cave. I suggest to follow the "gallery" route first (that is the path left, dont go right to the cave, you will pass it on the way back), and after passing this gallery via the stairs, continue trough the botanic garden. After 450 meters, take the path that goes left and up. You will walk trough a forest and after a while you see a crossing of a natural bridge of the gorge on your left. Pass this bridge and follow the path (pretty challenging path!). After this path turn right with a fence on your left. After the fence turn left and then go right following the signs "krnicia /bled". You will end up in the cave and you will be at the point where you went left to the gallery. Total hiking time about 2 hours. Hopefully this is helpful! Really worth the hike.
  • One of the not so known tracking places outside Bled but nonetheless breathtaking. It’s not filled with rushing water and a boardwalk over kilometers, it’s a hiking trail through forest and caves that still has something wild. The place is very quiet and is a welcoming change to all those run over tourist places. The road to the car park is never narrow so big campers or busses don’t really have a chance. If you think you gone wrong “you not” just keep following the winding road. The last hundred meters is a one car only road, so if a car comes up while you drive down, someone has to drive back in reverse. This game can goes on if you unlucky cause you can’t see down the road to far. If you made it to the car park, the parking is free and no entrance fee either. Just enjoy the beautiful walk through caves and forest. Last thing you can’t get lost there are signs everywhere!
