  • Underrated castle in a small town not far from Ljubljana. The castle is pretty There is a bar to sit and chill also a good trail. Only the location that locates in a small town so if just only come here for a castle would not that worth travelling time.
  • Really well-maintained castle, one of the best I've seen in Slovenia. Its located atop a hill with some decent views. It is possible to take a guided tour of the castle, plus there is a gift shop and free bathrooms. Dogs are allowed on the outside grassy area surrounding the castle. About a 40 minute drive from Ljubljana. Well worth it.
  • Nice place for one day visit, drink or eat something (when covid will be finished), walking around on prepared trim paths. The basic motive of this castle is Valvasor's work on copperplate printing workshop, first in Slovenia. And the life of people in this castle in that period, 17th century. Parking is available in front of castle. You can reach castle from two directions, from Litija or from Ivančna Gorica. There are "Krčma", castle restaurant for refreshing yourself, but don't work while covid-19 make problems. Around are beautifull hills, with grass and forests. Pleasure for eye, and for walking.
  • Lovely old castle. You can also go around in a trim path to discover landscape. And just a few minutes form ljubljana.
  • A small but beautiful Castle Bogešperk, a home place and working place of 17th-century scientist and natural historian Johann Weikhard von Valvasor, a fellow of the Royal Society in London. I came here on a trek from Litiji, you can follow the route visiting a few hilltops or go a more direct route via the road that leads directly up to the castle.
