Create an itinerary including Portorož Beach
Head to Portorož Beach for a leisurely stroll along the sea and terrific views of Piran. Lined with shops, restaurants, and cafes, this area is less of a beach and more of a promenade that stretches for miles along the coast. Paved with concrete or covered with rocks, it provides opportunities for strolling and sunbathing in a safe family atmosphere. Only a small passage leading into the water in the middle part of the beach is covered with sand. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available for rent. Note that you should wear beach shoes even in the water, and watch for cyclists on the path. Discover how to plan a Portorož trip in just a few steps with Klarna Trips's itinerary builder.

  • Overcrowded, fuuull of umbrellas and deck chairs. So many people on one place.. The “sandy beach” is not actually a beach, but a place with a sand, not directly connected with the sea. If you want to get to the sea from this “sandy beach”, you need to cross a concrete sidewalk which is between the sand and sea. The bottom of the sea is then with small stones, so not sandy, sea shoes are nice to have. The place made on me an impression of Balcan Monte Carlo. One afternoon visit is enough. Good to see, but half an hour by car in Croatia you can enjoy a way better swimmimg and environment.
  • Nice breach with brought-in sand, shallow water protected by nets. Deckchairs for 6 and 7 euros per day
  • Great for kids to scream their heads off, not for the adult solo traveller... 😱 So busy I had to wait almost an hour for a coffee bill.
  • Lovely beach, relaxing atmosphere and good food ❤ Certainly coming back!
  • Luxury beach/-coast towny
