  • I never would have expected to find a museum of hay barns quite so interesting. It was fascinating! The gift shop had some lovely Slovenian crafts for sale also.

  • A huge field near the village was transformed to a skansen – open museum of wooden constructions and buildings to dry and to keep hay. Constructions can be simple, with roof, or they are huge...

  • Visit this open air museum while passing through with a tour group from Alaska. Very well maintained. It was great to see the advancements starting with simple "poles" on the ground to the more modern units. Impressive how they moved some of the larger units to the museum, especially considering that they were all wood, no use of metals in holding them together.
  • Well worth a visit and I recommend a guided tour.
  • Kozolec is something unique for Slovenia... kozolec is/was a farmers place to store hay for his animals for the winter. Here they have lots of kozolec to see: from very simple ones to very complex double ones that are called toplar... nice to visit but, not that must to see.
  • Super
  • This is the pinnacle of the culture and technique of using wood for Slovenian farms. The haystacks are a masterpiece and a treasure that exceeds their purpose, that is, the symbiosis of the Slovenian soul with nature. Wherever such haystacks will take you, that's where our Slovenian ancestry goes.
