Although tiny in size, Capuchin Bridge remains a big attraction for anyone looking for photo opps in Slovenia. The stone bridge leads from a monastery and serves as a town symbol, dating back from the 14th century. It also provides a good vantage point for seeing the rest of the old town and the castle. To capture the best bridge photos, go over the footbridge crossing the river just east. Put Capuchin Bridge at the forefront of your travel plans using our Škofja Loka itinerary maker tool.

  • I could see that the view of the bridge would be magical, but unfortunately the bridge is currently covered in scaffolding.

  • This is a nice village, very close to Ljubljana. It can be a good destination for half a day over the week end. It can get busy, though.
  • Could do with a bit of maintainence but it doesn't distract from an overall magical atmosphere
  • Lovely bridge. The best photos can be taken from the south west of the bridge.
  • Pretty views of the town.
  • This bridge over the Selca Sora river, built in the mid-14th century from carved stone in a semi-circular shape, is the only one of its kind in central Europe. In 1888 it was renovated and equipped with iron railings. In the centre there is a statue of St. John of Nepomuk, with the Škofja Loka coat-of-arms on the plinth. In the Middle Ages the Selca Gate with a guard tower stood beside the bridge.
