Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit
Built to commemorate the solders who died in the battles of World War I, Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit was designed by Austrian architect Remigius Geyling. Made of wood mostly, the church features engraved names of over 2,800 fallen soldiers. To reach the building, you'll have to go up a narrow gravel road--not for the faint hearted. Although the way to Javorca was slightly scary because of the precipice, it was worth it. The church is very beautiful. Also the landscape.

This can be a little tricky to get to, but it is entirely worth the effort. I'd been on the fence about going as I was trying to fit a lot of sightseeing into a small amount of time, and I'm so glad..... more

Church Javorca is not just a church. It is a promoter of peace. The strongest antiwar monument after the 'war museum in Kobarid'. With hike to springs of Tolminka river for me a highlight of Soča Valley!

We ll worth the walk to this amazing place which is full of history.
-
Its a nice place but i wonder if its worth the effort. Its a 20 minute drive from tolmin, with the roads being very narrow and winding. Followed by a steep walk uphill for about 1km. But the church is very pretty, with a very nice view.

This church is an impressive call for peace. Really worth visiting and to listen to the guide explaining the history of this church.
-
It was enlightening stop during the hike. The church is beautiful with a very inspiring story. The guardian/guide was very knowledgeable and interesting person to talk to. I strongly advise the visit!
