Create an itinerary including Tolmin Gorge
Trek around Tolmin Gorge to discover its many natural features, including the Bear's Head, a fallen moss-covered rock stuck between its walls like a bridge. The gorge is the lowest entry point into Triglav National Park. Devil's Bridge, a steel bridge that replaced an older wooden one from 1907, shelters a small cave with a thermal spring. At the entrance, get a map and inquire where to go. Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water and food. The scenery along the gorge features many wet, dark tunnels, crossings, rapids, and waterfalls. Notice the green-blue color of the crystal clear water, the result of its mineral content. • There is nothing here, which you cannot see by making excursions along the Soča. In fact, I rate the great Soča gorges more spectacular, and the source of Soča more impressive. However, you will see....  more

  • Very, very nice place. A clean and refreshing natural environment. I recommend visiting in the off-season, as it is very crowded.

  • Absolutely beautiful nature park. As of summer 2022 the fee for adults is €10 each (children are less, but still paid). Once you see the railings that must be maintained to protect you from certain death, the fee is acceptable. An absolute must visit for those visiting Slovenia.
  • What a stunning setting in pure mother nature! Although we had rainy and wet circumstances, it simply does not take the beauty away. Explore and enjoy many different views and angles before returning to the entrance by a scenic road.
  • Beautiful place ! Well located. My suggestion will be. To park your car in parking place 2 which is free and go up by free shuttle bus ! If you park at parking place 1 ( just next to the Tolmin gorges ) you will pay 5 euro for parking . Overall a little difficult walk with small children if you don’t have backpack.
  • I enjoyed the gorges but to be honest the best views are from the public road at the back. From down in the gorges you get very narrow views that don't really give you the grand perspective. It's also very expensive for what is just a simple path. There is nothing special added on for the experience. There are no real running costs for this that demand €10 per person. Slovenia does charge an excessive amount for people to walk through its natural sites. That's coming from someone from the UK where we have lots of overpriced country houses and old ruined castles charging to visit but the prices in Slovenia are another level entirely especially when the experience is just so average. There are no abundance of catering options, no water fountains, no bins, no well trained enthusiastic guides, no special lighting or other additions. It's just an excessive charge to walk yourself through an area that is entirely natural and should be for the benefit of all and any maintenance costs should be adequately covered from the tax on revenues that local businesses receive from all the tourists. There was a cafe on top of the hill that had full tables throughout our time there so clearly the gorge drives people to the area to spend money so just be content with that. On the plus side the parking was free and they offer a shuttle bus to the start but I didn't see it used as it's not far and it was a nice mild day.
  • We went on a rainy morning (drizzle). Still very nice to visit. But hiking shoes advises for all the stairs. There is also a spring within this Gorge, but it’s not accessible. When we went (first half of September) there was still plenty of space on Parking P1, right next to the entrance. Entrance fee: 8 euro per adult.
