    This is a nice botanical garden showcasing the local flora of the Julian Alps. The garden itself is fairly manicured but in a naturalistic way and is quite pretty. It is situated at several levels.....  more

    We took one of the few buses from Kranska Gora and driver dropped us at layby just past the gardens. The plants were amazing and the butterflies even better. We sat there for a few hours taking in...

    A very peaceful place where you can discover all of Slovenia's plants. While hiking I actually took pictures of some interesting plants, and found them here with their Latin name. If you're into plants, there's tons of species here, many only native to Slovenia. If you aren't, it's a very relaxing place to shelter from the heat and to just admire nature for only €3.

    If you want to see most of the Alpine flora in one easily accessible place, this is the place to go. Since we were early and there was no one else, the ticket lady took as around and pointed out a number of extremely awesome plants we would have otherwise missed.
