See Masjid al-Qiblatayn Mosque, the city’s oldest Islamic site, dating back to only a few decades after the Hijra of Muhammad. Every year, crowds of devotees flock to see the final resting place of Sheikh Babu Dena, which is inclidued in the site. Although the ancient building is partly in ruins, you can still clearly see the two "mihrabs" (Muslim prayer niches)--one facing Mecca, and the other facing Jerusalem. • Though I have never been here before but, from what I have gathered about this historical Masjid, I am really appealing to the Somaliland government to do whatever in her power to repair and restore this Masjid due to its importance.
  • It is one of the oldest mosques in Africa. It contains the tomb of Sheikh Babu Dena. Though now mostly in ruins, the edifice features two mihrabs: one oriented to the north toward Mecca, and the other oriented to the northwest toward Jerusalem. The mosque, which translates to "Mosque of the two Qiblahs", dates its construction to the 7th century CE, shortly after the Abyssinian Hijrah (هِـجْـرَة‎) of Muslims to what was then Abyssinia.
  • It was amazing to be apart of an Islamic Mosque that was built centuries ago
  • Its masjid so called ancient history and deserves to be built again, thanks God
  • Mashaallah piece of Somaliland history.may Allah preserve it
