As important of a visit to Table Mountain, this is so much more than an attraction but an experience that swoops you up for an entire day, from amazing sun-kissed skies to jaw dropping sunsets on the trip back to the V & A station. 💯 worth every penny! We hired the last coach for our fellow travelers, including a DJ, and our own catering. The train bar service was tops too, although I think we finished ALL their bubbly onboard. Life is a celebration, right!

A steam train was on my bucket list. It was a lovely ride to Elgin Railway Market, something new in a different route. The long drop toilet was a new experience. Shop on the train caters for basics, accepts cash and card. The website does warn you about stone throwers and we encountered them appropriately by Sir Lowrys. Overall great experience and will do it again.

Had such an amazing experience with Ceres Rail on the route to Ceres that I had to go back and experience the route to Elgin Railway market. I’ll likely be back again! I can highly recommend any of their routes- especially to those who need a hearty dose of nostalgia.

We sat in a Day Sitter booth. Seat 4K. Overall, Ceres Rail was amazing. Our trip was lovely and it was so cool to see Cape Town from a completely new angle. Roelof Joubert attended to us in our carriage. He was friendly, kind and very knowledgeable. The rest of the staff were a pleasure, too. Our trip was to the Elgin Railway market. Not my first time there but always fun. We enjoyed the curry and pizza (with real pepperoni!). We probably had around 3 and a half hours to eat and browse the market.
